I have feeling the leafs are going to take a big step back this year. They haven't improved the Defense at all. Also they were one of the healthiest teams in the league last year. It will only take one injury to set them back. I am not saying they will not be be bad but to expect them to be automatic playoff team or Stanley cup contender is crazy. The vastly overachieved last year and to expect them to repeat or improve on last year with out adding any key piece to the team especially defense is asking to much. Marleau is going to be a bust.

Patrick Laine will do it.

Might already have the best shot in the NHL.

Nobody will hit 50goals unless the Refs start calling obstruction penalties again or the goalies' pad size is reduced. Matthews 45,Tarasenko 42, Laine 42, Crosby 40, Ovi 38.

IMO Matthews will be a defensive target in his sophomore season. I don't think he'll "slump" overall but I don't think his goal totals will rise. Guessing 36.

Ovechkin, Stamkos, and Tarasenko are all good bets to score 50 goals.

I wouldn't be surprised to see McDavid hit 50, either.

It was 14.2%....nice try

And like all great goal scorers that's where it should be. It's even a little low

Stamkos 17.2% career sh%
Crosby 14.7% career sh%
Taransenko 13.8%

If healthy I'm banking on them to be one of the best duo in the league

Something like

40 g 45 a 85 points for Kucherov

45g 30 a for Stamkos for 75 points

I got them both for my fantasy team

Who $hit in your cereal, kid? He said "around 15%". Last time I checked, 14.2 is < 1 away from 15. Don't be a crybaby b!tch.

If you think Matthews is as good as or consistent as (or better than) Tarasenko then you're insanely delusional. Run along now.

Do you math??

It's around 14%

14 to 15% is a big difference in shooting percentage....so yes I'm allowed to correct him on that.

And well Tarasenko took 4 seasons to score 40. Matthews did it in his rookie year so yeah I do. I'm not delusional. I have facts to back it up In fact.

Call me delusional all you want it dosnt make it true. I even get a laugh out of t so thanks

If both are healthy and they go back to the Namestnikov-Stamkos-Kucherov line I think the both push 50G - 40A - 90P type numbers. That PP should be a 25%+ machine too.

I have troubles seeing both pushing 50. I'd be pretty amazed if they could do it.

Kucherov is super underrated. People laughed at me when I picked him 6th overall in my draft but I see him number 2 behind Mcdavid in points easy.

Do you English?? 14.2 is "around 15". In no common-sense world or country is it "a big different in shooting percentage". That is 8 goals per 1,000 shots difference, or in terms a derp such as yourself may understand, 2 goals per year for a player that shoots ~3 times per game.

Facts back up that Tarasenko has been an elite NHLer for multiple seasons. Matthews had 1 successful season. Get over yourself and gain some perspective. You are the type of fan that makes your team's base look bad.

Tarasenko doesn't get enough shots on goal to get 50.

Unless you are shooting at 17-20% you need like 350+ shots to get to 50 G.

In the last 5 seasons there have only been 4 350+ shot players. Ovechkin 3 times and Burns 1 time.
